What is TNPCB NOC / authorization?

The acronym TNPCB stands for Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, a body that ensures that businesses and industries operate within the state of Tamil Nadu’s regulated limits for pollution and combustion levels and issues No Objection certificates to each business in accordance with their category based on the amount of pollution they emit. These NOCs (no objection certificates) come in two steps, CTE and CTO, which are. Consent to Operate and to Establish.

What is CTE (Consent to Establish)?

In accordance with The Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution Act of 1974 and The Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution Act of 1981), CTE-Consent to Establish is a NOC provided by TNPCB that is required before you start your business or enterprise. Before starting a business, CTE must be obtained from the relevant State Pollution Control Board (TNPCB). Application in the proper format, with the required paperwork and payment, is required for the process, which is then followed by an inspection.
